Time for another Six Sentence Sunday offering.
The rules are simple – sign up on the website then on the following Sunday post six sentences, no more no less because it will be checked, to your blog. Plenty of other people do it too so you can read theirs and they can read yours.
Today we’re back with Cynfal and his ‘sheep’.
Cynon hailed them with a cheery grin. “I said I’d find you something to ride,” he said as soon as Cynfal was close enough to hear. “I’m assured it’s a horse but you might have to dig down through the winter coat to find it.”
Cynfal accepted the halter rope and tried not to smile as the little white beast nuzzled his fingers. “If I ride with my knees drawn up …?”

“Or crosslegged?” Aeddan suggested.
Lol. This is a funny six 🙂
🙂 thanks Zee. I suppose I ought to start posting the edgier stuff. Just for a change. Next week maybe a bit of UST
LOL! Is he really about to ride a sheep? Or is it a really small and hairy horse?
A friend has a Welsh Mountain stallion who looked like a polar bear during the winter. We followed him in the car once and clocked him galloping at over 28 mph with a 10 stone man up. He could really shift but you had to ride short. 🙂
Cool!
LOL, am now trying to imagine riding cross-legged!
Like a camel rider? 🙂 I don’t think it would work very well on a little pony. A Shire with a back like a table might be okay. Once I’d have tried it to see if it was feasible but if I fell off now all my old bones would shatter like glass.
LOL! I love the image you’ve painted in my mind. Great six!
Thanks Monica. 🙂
I love the reparte among these guys. They sound like an amusing group. 🙂
Thanks for commenting, Stephanie. I’m having fun writing them.
You have a wonderful way of layering humor in your writing without beating us with it. Nice six!!
😀 thank you very much.
Riding cross-legged… I’d pay money to see that! Continue to enjoy your six.
Thank you! 🙂
I love how you portray the men. There’s great comraderie here, and it’s very realistic. Love the image you put in the reader’s mind. Good job with this Six!
Thanks for commenting. I’m very relieved you like it. One is never really sure.
If it is a sheep at least the ride will be well padded. 🙂
And nice and warm! Actually it’s a local breed pony in it’s winter coat. They look like little bears. Thanks for commenting.
I really like the jocularity between these two. It helps add to the visuals you already create.
🙂 thank you and thanks for taking the trouble to comment. It’s much appreciated.
So…off to battle the Saxons on a sheep, LOL! Great visual, there. I like the camaraderie between the soldiers. It’s wonderful that you are “bringing to life” and “putting a face on” the men from the ancient poem your story is based on. Great six! (And thanks again for the phonetic pronunciations!!)
Thanks for commenting.
Phonetics are sometimes necessary. There’s a village near here whose proper name is Ynysgwnraidd – everyone calls it Skenfrith.
I really like these men! Strong and rough, but loyal and friendly and funny. Nice!
Thanks babes 🙂
Haha, sounds like a bumpy ride 🙂
Probably 🙂 but nice and furry. Thanks for commenting.
oh, for cute. The little horse too.
Thanks 🙂 and thanks for commenting.
