Grinning like a monkey because I have finished “On A Lee Shore”! And about bloody time too! It was my 2010 Nanowrimo and I did 60K in the time, no problem, but lost all my impetus afterwards. Now it can sit for a bit while I do something else to clear my palate before I do the second draft. 🙂
And the meme:
I’ve been tagged for the Lucky Seven by Julia Kavan!
Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript
Go to line 7
Post on your blog the next 7 lines, or sentences, as they are – no cheating
Tag 7 other authors to do the same
Last time I did it there was a paragraphs option but I have been good and conformed.
However I’m not going to tag other people to do it. I don’t think I know 7 authors who haven’t already been tagged. 🙂 If you fancy having a go please let me know. I’d love to read your Sevens.
This snippet is from “Eleventh Hour” – a story about the Special Intelligence Service set in 1928.
“I have packed most of your things, Mr Siward, and there’s tea on the hearth. I will have the baggage taken round to the mews directly.”
“Thank you, Pritchard,” Siward said, paying off the cabbie. “Come, Allerdale, I won’t keep you long but you may as well wait in comfort.”
Siward’s rooms took up the whole first floor. He led Briers into the flat then nodded towards the scuffed chesterfield couch and the table by the fireplace. “I won’t be long. Help yourself to tea.”
“Never touch the stuff,” Briers said, “but I will read your paper, if I may?”
Well done for completing OALS. A real SQUEEEEEEEE moment. Now, feet up and bask for a while before embarking on second d’raft. *groan*.
I’ll have a bash at *Sevens*. That’ll be a thrill for everyone…….not. Lol.
From my WIP Defying Leviticus ( working title). 😉 I won’t tag though. x
Thanks babes. No time to put my feet up. I’ve only just started my anthology story. 🙂
How is yours coming along?
